how we work with the NDIS

NDIS logo

At Join the Conversation Speech Pathology, we see children who are self-managed or plan-managed under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

  • Self-managed – You pay us directly and claim from the NDIS.

  • Plan-managed – We invoice your plan manager.

We’re not currently registered for NDIA-managed clients.

NDIS & Early Childhood supports

The NDIS helps children and families access the right supports if your child has a developmental delay or disability that makes everyday life more challenging.

This funding can help cover the cost of speech therapy and other supports your child might need.

  • Under 6 years: You can access the Early Childhood Approach (ECA) without needing a diagnosis. This pathway is about getting support early if your child is developing differently or needs extra help.

  • Ages 6–9 years: The ECA can also support children in this age group. At this stage, a diagnosis is usually needed to continue with NDIS supports.

  • From age 9, families apply directly to the NDIS. If your child is eligible, they will receive an NDIS plan that includes funding for supports like speech therapy.

  1. Get in touch – Families can contact the NDIS through their website or by calling 1800 800 110.
  2. Initial discussion – You’ll be asked about your child’s needs, the difficulties they face, and the supports that may help.
  3. Outcome – The NDIS will provide feedback on whether your child can access NDIS supports. If eligible, your child will receive a plan outlining their goals and the services that can be funded.
