Hi! I’m Catherine O’Hare — Director and Principal Speech Pathologist at Join the Conversation Speech Pathology, based in Grange, Brisbane North. I offer assessment and therapy that’s flexible, family-centred, and focused on what matters most to you.

I’m a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, graduating with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2016. Since then, I’ve supported children and families across Queensland — from tiny rural towns to large hospitals, kindergartens, schools, and community clinics. I’ve delivered therapy in homes, classrooms, hospital bedsides, and around kitchen tables.

Before starting my private practice, I worked as a Senior Speech Pathologist in rural communities, supporting people of all ages with their communication and swallowing needs. I also had the privilege of leading a team of allied health professionals — physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, speech pathologists, and allied health assistants — all working together to support children and families across health and community settings. 

I then moved into a specialist role at a major children’s hospital, where I helped families understand their child’s development — including their strengths and what support might help them thrive.

These days, I bring that experience into my own practice, where I support children and families in a warm, flexible way that fits into everyday life. I offer sessions in the clinic, at home, or in your child’s familiar environments like daycare, kindy, or school. I’m here to help your child communicate, connect, and feel confident — and to support you every step of the way.

I’m passionate about supporting each child as they are — not who they’re expected to be. I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach, with a focus on your child’s strengths, practical goals, meaningful progress, and making therapy a positive experience for both children and parents.

Outside of work, I’m a mum, a Groodle-lover (my dog Bia is part of the team!), and someone who finds joy in hiking, cooking, visiting wineries, and getting lost in a good art gallery.
